St.George Bank uses trackdown SPITS

St.George Logo

St.George is Australia's fifth largest bank and one of the top 15 publicly listed companies in Australia, employing over 7,500 people.

Its national operations span all aspects of the financial industry including retail banking, institutional & business banking, and wealth management. At the Bank's core is a close relationship with its customers and this remains the cornerstone of future strategies, an important tradition that distinguishes St.George from other Australian Banks.

St George StaffStiearc was approached in 1995 to modify its file tracking software for use by the Bank in its Security Packet Store Room to handle packet movements and store audits. The project was a success and integrated well with the Bank’s internal diary system. Utilising barcode technology, trackdown SPITS provides an efficient method for the retrieval and deployment of Security Packets to and from loans officers.

Mr Phil Tuckerman, Team Leader Securitisation Unit for Loan Servicing - NSW, commented:

"St.George is focused on constantly improving our customer service and part of this is to increase the efficiency of our operations. Stiearc has been very helpful because they are prepared to listen to us and come up with answers."

The current release of trackdown SPITS is an example of a simple trackdown design that has been modified to integrate well within the framework that St George defined to us. It uses the ImageTeam 5620 cordless linear image barcode scanner from Hand Held Products for improved ergonomics and efficient packet handling.
